Hello everyone!
It’s amazing what goals can do! I stated last week that I had been terrible for keeping up with my writing goals, and then I pledged to write 2,500 words, and gosh darn it: I did it! So that puts my new Inception-meets-Darren-Shan’s-The-City, New Adult speculative fiction novel at 56,000 out of 65,000 words!
So, new goal: I’d *like* to write another 2,500 words by next Wednesday, but next week is looking extremely busy, so I’ll be happy with anything over 1,500 words.
I’ve also decided to have my Wednesday Writerly Updates focus on my actual book releases. Some weeks there may not be much to report, but with “The Black Oracle” due out in 12 days (12 DAYS!!), I wanna keep everyone up to date.
And it’s a good thing too. This was a HUGE week for The Black Oracle promotion. Check out release updates below. And while you’re at it, check out other authors involved in this Writing Wednesday blog hop:

Wednesday Writerly Update for THE BLACK ORACLE!
- “The Black Oracle”, my debut New Adult post-apocalyptic fantasy novel, is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Order it today and have it auto-delivered to your Kindle on May 25, 2015. If you do, be sure to leave a review on Amazon or Goodreads once you’ve finished. I want to know if you hate it. Seriously: let me have it!
- Speaking of Goodreads, you can enter to win a free copy of “The Black Oracle”. The same review rules apply. The draw will be done on June 7, 2015.
- On May 31, 2015, I will be at T by Daniel in Brampton, Ontario for The Black Oracle Book Launch! If you’re in the Greater Toronto Area, come drop by to grab a copy of the book, have delightful (and mind-numbingΒ π ) conversation with me, and enjoy Daniel’s world famous tea (it’s the best. For real)!
Whew! So busy. How are your writing goals going? Until next week!

Wish I lived closer than 9 hours away, or I’d totally be there for the launch! π But 12 days!! This is awesome! I’m so excited to read your book! And 1,500 when you’re release is so close is totally acceptable. This is exciting! Good work on the 2,500, and you’ve hooked me with “Inception-meets-Darren-Shanβs-The-City” so… if you need a beta? LOL. Good work this week!

Hi Michael *waves* Congrats on your new release-to-be π
Isn’t it amazing how being accountable to other writers in a blog hoppy thing like this suddenly brings all the words? I would not have written half the amount I have were it not for the awesomeness of #wipmarathon and now #writingwednesdays!
Wishing you all the best for the busy week ahead.

Congrats on meeting your goal! I have been really bad at keeping to my goals for the past year or so
I started about 5000 words of my latest draft and knew something was “off.” I did some reoutlining, and I’m happy with the new outline, but between running a production trial every other week at work and moving into a new house, life has just been too hectic lately. I’m waiting for the dust to settle and for my elbows to have some more room π
